Don’t Let Fear Grip You at the Height of Success

Joshauna Nash

Your success is on the horizon. You have worked, you have sewn and you have not given up. When success comes, don’t be fearful. It will catapult you even beyond what you envisioned. Run with it.

Transparent moment – I wrote my first blog in 2019 “Broken but not destroyed.” While I prayed it would be a blessing to people dealing with unforgiveness and grief from divorce as well as an opportunity for me to share my most personal story, I really didn’t think it would capture the attention of so many people. After publishing that piece, I began to get calls, text messages and direct messages from people thanking me for sharing my story. During that time, I was offered my first speaking engagement to share my story and I eventually was asked to be on the cover of Mom to Mom magazine, an accomplishment that I am still grateful for today. Yet, in the midst of all that and despite the success I was seeing, I allowed fear to grip me. I was so overwhelmed, I literally stopped blogging and didn’t think about it much afterwards. For two years I occupied my time with other things and made excuses as to why I wasn’t writing. I allowed fear to interrupt what God wanted to do in my life.

Don’t be the fearful me!

Don’t allow fear to grip you at the height of success. Sometimes the door of success opens suddenly and sometimes it’s gradual, but when it happens, don’t allow fear to inhibit your growth and where God wants to take you. In case you need a reminder, you were made for what God equipped you with and has shaped you to do. Know this, your assignment is and will be greater than what you have envisioned.

The promises of God are yea and Amen. If He said it to you and ordained it for you, then it has to come to past. Activate your faith, activate your creativity, activate your abilities, activate your skills, activate your talents.

Overcoming fear is about realizing that your assignment is bigger than you. In fact, it’s not about you at all. When you remove “self” out the equation, God can shape you more effectively to fulfill the purpose he has positioned you for.

Go forth and don’t allow fear to grip you. You were made to succeed.
